Toffler is the former CEO of Viacom Media Networks Music & Logo Group. During his 28 year tenure at MTV/Viacom, Toffler instigated and oversaw some of the most outrageous cultural moments and creative brands in history. Under his leadership, he helped take MTV around the world, launched MTV Films, MTV Digital, MTV2, MTVU, MTV Hits & Jams, Palladia, VH1 Classic, and Logo. Additionally Toffler oversaw the creation & production of a diverse slate of content from Beavis and Butthead to The Real World, the VMAs & Movie Awards, VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, the CMT Awards, The Osbournes, Punk’d, Jackass, Unplugged, Crossroads, Jersey Shore and Catfish, as well as social campaigns like Choose or Lose, Hope for Haiti and VH1’s Save the Music. He also produced/executive produced a slate of novel and believe it or not, sometimes even Oscar nominated films such as Election, Napoleon Dynamite, The Longest Yard, Kings of Comedy, Hustle and Flow, Bad Grandpa and Blades of Glory. He also supervised the creation of a slew of digital content from $5 Cover directed by Craig Brewer, Inside Joke by Michael Che, Rock Band, Urge and VBS - a partnership with Vice.
Prior to launching Gunpowder & Sky, Bauer was a Senior Advisor at Otter Media, the joint venture formed by The Chernin Group and AT&T to acquire, invest in, and launch global over-the-top (OTT) video services. Before that, he spent more than nine years at Endemol Group, a global leader in entertainment with operations in over 30 countries. Part of Endemol’s global management team and international board, he held the position of Global Head of Corporate Development & Strategy. Based in London, Bauer was responsible for overseeing Endemol’s strategy, M&A and business development activities across divisions, including TV production and distribution, brand exploitation, gaming and digital video. During his tenure, he led many of Endemol’s key strategic initiatives, territory launches and investments. He currently sits on the Boards of Shareability, Cut, Supergravity Pictures and Whiterabbit Films. Bauer lived in the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom before moving to the United States. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
